The training workshop for liaison officers from Yemeni universities participating in the second cycle of the 2025 National University Ranking concluded in the interim capital, Aden. The workshop was organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Technical and Vocational Training, with generous support from Al-Awn Foundation for Development.
The two-day workshop brought together 40 participants, including members of the ranking executive committee and liaison officers from various Yemeni universities. Participants received intensive training on using the electronic platform designated for the national university ranking tool, as well as the mechanisms for electronically entering data—aimed at enhancing academic performance and aligning with international ranking standards.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants emphasized the importance of ensuring the annual continuity of the national ranking initiative, considering it a key tool for improving the quality of higher education and promoting healthy competition among Yemeni universities. They also highlighted the significance of such rankings in encouraging universities to develop and keep pace with scientific advancements.
This workshop is part of a series of programs implemented by the Ministry of Higher Education in collaboration with Al-Awn Foundation for Development, as part of their joint efforts to build a national ranking system that promotes a culture of quality and academic excellence in higher education institutions across Yemen.
