Minister of Technical Education Discusses Strengthening Partnership with Al-Awn Foundation to Advance TVET Sector
The Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training, Dr. Anwar Kalshat, held a meeting today in the interim capital, Aden, with Dr. Abdellah bin Othman, Executive Director of Al-Awn Foundation for Development, to discuss ways to strengthen partnership and joint cooperation in supporting and advancing technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programs in Yemen.
During the meeting, Al-Awn Foundation presented its key interventions in the TVET sector, which included the rehabilitation of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Department at the Technical Institute in Mukalla, along with upgrading its equipment in line with modern standards. The foundation also highlighted its efforts in implementing specialized training programs aimed at enhancing the capacities of trainers to meet the evolving demands of the labor market.
The discussion also addressed the foundation’s support to the Community College in Seiyun through curriculum development and the provision of essential technical equipment, contributing to improving the quality of education and training.
The Minister praised the impactful role played by Al-Awn Foundation in supporting the TVET sector through initiatives that build human capital and strengthen the efficiency of training institutions.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation and strategic partnership to support the implementation of further development programs and initiatives, ultimately enhancing institutional performance across technical institutes and training centers nationwide.
