Launch of Business–TVET Partnership Forum in Hadhramaut to Align Training Outcomes with Labor Market Needs, Supported by Al-Awn Foundation for Development

Under the patronage of a Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Governor of Hadhramaut, the Business–Traders and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Partnership Forum was launched in Hadhramaut Governorate under the theme: “Quality Skills that Meet Labor Market Needs and Enhance Economic Development.” The forum represents a strategic step toward strengthening integration between the business sector and TVET institutions to develop skilled professionals capable of competing in both local and regional markets.

The forum brings together a distinguished group of business leaders, traders, and senior representatives of TVET institutions in a joint dialogue and action platform aimed at aligning TVET outputs with private sector needs, promoting investment in national competencies, and building sustainable partnerships that contribute to the development of vocational training systems, expansion of employment opportunities, and support for economic development.

As part of the forum activities, participants conducted a field visit to the Industrial Technical Institute on the Hadhramaut coast to review modern facilities, laboratories, and training workshops, and to assess the readiness of the learning environment, particularly in the refrigeration and air-conditioning specialization.

The visit reflected a key objective of the forum: strengthening private sector confidence in TVET outputs and highlighting progress achieved in curriculum development, training staff qualification, and modernization of laboratories, in line with labor market demands. This contributes to preparing graduates equipped with practical skills required by productive and service-based enterprises.

Participants emphasized that the forum marks a new phase in building strategic partnerships between the business sector and TVET institutions, shifting from dialogue to practical implementation, thereby enhancing sustainable development and supporting the local economy through investment in national skills.
