Al-Awn Foundation for Development organized the World Humanitarian Day event in partnership with the OCHA office and the exhibition (Humanity in Image) this morning in the city of Mukalla.
In the speech of the local authority, the Undersecretary of Hadhramaut Governorate, Hassan Al-Jilani, conveyed the greetings of the Governor of Hadhramaut Governorate, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, expressing gratitude for the local authority in the governorate to everyone who works in the humanitarian field, whether they are in development institutions, charities, or humanitarian organizations, stressing that their noble work embodies the best manifestations of humanity and is an inspiration.
Al-Jilani said, "Let us pay tribute to all humanitarian workers who strive to work throughout the year to provide assistance and relief to those in need, praising the work and activities of Al-Awn Foundation for Development and its adoption of such activities that enhance the values of humanity and drive development for the better.
The Executive Director of Al-Awn Foundation for Development, Dr. Abdullah bin Othman, pointed out the importance of humanitarian work and the challenges facing those working on it, praising their role in assisting the needy and being helpful to them, thanking the cooperation between local authorities and civil society organizations for providing humanitarian services and achieving sustainable development.
In a speech via videoconference, the Secretary-General of the United Nations spoke about the necessity of humanitarian action in light of the accompanying global conditions, praising its workers.
The coordinator of the OCHA office in Hadramout, Niazi bin Salman, confirmed that attending the World Humanitarian Day is to demonstrate and highlight humanitarian work and its main goal and to celebrate its workers, saying, "You are the heroes who do not tire despite the circumstances of the country.
At the end of the event ceremony, actors in humanitarian work were honored by government agencies, civil society organizations, humanitarian personalities, and community initiatives.
In addition, the Undersecretary of Hadramout Governorate, Hassan Al-Jilani, inaugurated the (Humanity in Image) exhibition, in which the Art Forum Academy and several professional photographers participate with pictures and drawings that express humanity.
After the ceremony, Al-Awn Foundation for Development implemented a panel discussion that dealt with many papers. The first paper was titled (The Importance of Primary Health Care, Reproductive Health, and Global Trends) presented by the Advisor to the Minister of Health, National Epidemiologist Dr. Abdullah Bin Ghouth, and the Coordinator of Reproductive Health at the United Nations Population Fund, Dr. Ahlam Bin Brik. And the director of the Comprehensive Primary Health Care Center in Al-Hajrain, Dr. Ibrahim Badawy.
The representative of the OCHA presented the second paper (humanitarian action, reality, and challenges), Mr. Niazi bin Salman, and the representative of the World Food Program, Mr. Abdul Rahman Basalamah.
The third paper dealt with (the role of investment in the development of human capital, education as a model) presented by the Executive Director of Al-Awn Foundation, Dr. Abdullah bin Othman, the Executive Director of Selah Foundation for Development, Mr. Ali Bashmakh, and the Executive Director of Hadramout Foundation - Human Development, Eng. Tariq Balkhshar.
After each panel discussion, the papers witnessed different interventions made by the participants in the event.
